“Praise be to you, my Lord, through all your creatures.” ~St Francis of Assisi
In the spirit of the Canticle of the Creatures, Franciscans around the world are preparing to engage deeply with one of the most important global conversations of our time; the UN Climate Conference (COP30), to be held in Belém, Brazil. This gathering will be a moment of truth for our planet, as leaders, activists, and faith communities come together to discern a path forward in protecting our shared home.
For us as Franciscans, COP30 is not only a political event; it is a moment of spiritual witness. It invites us to live out our vocation to peace, justice, and care for creation in tangible ways. Whether we find ourselves in Belém or far away in our local communities, we are all part of this pilgrimage of hope.

If your Anglican Franciscan community is joining a local march, please share your photos online! Tag @FranciscansInternational and use the hashtag #FranciscansUnitedforClimateAction; your witness may inspire others to do the same.
A Shared Franciscan Witness
In this Season of Creation and beyond, may we remember that each small act of awareness and advocacy contributes to a greater symphony of care. St Francis and St Clare teach us that simplicity, humility, and compassion are the seeds of transformation; both personal and planetary.
Let us pray for courage to listen deeply to the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor. Let us walk together as brothers and sisters of every living thing, bound by love for the Creator and for all that has been created.
